Dr. Mike Gosz

Mike serves as vice president for data analytics at Illinois Institute of Technology, with responsibility for developing data-informed analysis to drive improvements in enrollment, student success, and other important university operations. He joined Illinois Tech in 1996 as an assistant professor of mechanical and materials engineering, and became part of the senior leadership team in 2006 as vice-provost for undergraduate affairs. He became vice-president for enrollment in 2015 and was instrumental in increasing Illinois Tech’s first-to-second-year retention rate, improving the six-year graduation rate, and he and his team increased the size of the first-year class by 50 percent. He earned his BS in mechanical engineering from Marquette University and his master’s degree and PhD in theoretical and applied mechanics from Northwestern University.

Mike lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife Mary Lee, and enjoys traveling, playing golf, reading and keeping up with the latest technology.
