Tracy Tolliver

As director of library information technology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Library, Tracy provides leadership, management, and planning for IT services and infrastructure that support the activities of one of the world’s great research libraries. She also works closely with partners such as the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) and the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) to provide technical guidance regarding existing and emerging digital services.

Prior to joining the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Tracy spent nearly a decade working for a software and data processing vendor who supported major carriers through exponential growth during the telecom revolution to wireless. This is where Tracy learned the importance of process and scalability. After joining the University, Tracy lead high profile projects such as implementing Banner, migrating Learning Management Systems, and deploying hosted services to campus. Not having the budget to replicate physical infrastructure on par with private industry for enterprise level application services, Tracy became an advocate for cloud platform use in the higher ed space. Cloud platforms provided the agility she wanted to respond to the ever-changing needs of research, instruction, and outreach.

Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Tracy enjoys checking out midwestern wineries with friends and spending time with family.
