Subject: re:Invent 2026 — requesting approval to attend

Hi [Manager name],

AWS re:Invent is November 30 – December 4 in Las Vegas. As we're planning for [next quarter / our AI strategy / our cloud migration], I'd like to attend. Here's why:

What I'd bring back:

• Configuration templates, reference architectures, and proven patterns from working directly with AWS engineers — they share what worked and what didn't.

• Real examples from our industry. Detailed architecture walkthroughs of what they built, what failed, and what they'd do differently.

• Cross-industry perspectives on the same problems we're solving — approaches we wouldn't find staying inside our own orbit.

• Hands-on time with new services before they're widely adopted — so we can evaluate early rather than react late.

Why it's worth it:

94% of last year's attendees recommend it to a colleague. 89% said the content was directly relevant to their role. 80% achieved their primary goal for attending. 70% of sessions are interactive working formats, not lectures.

The cost:

• Registration: $1,299 (early bird — saves $1,200; ends August 25)

• Round-trip airfare: ~$600

• Hotel (five nights): ~$218/night (~$1,091 + taxes and fees)

• Estimated total: ~$2,990 per person at early bird

If we send multiple people: Everyone focuses on different sessions and problems. We come back with a fuller picture. There's 10% off when you purchase 10+ tickets, and registered attendees get 50% off AWS Certification exams.

I'll put together a debrief when we're back and make sure we apply what's relevant to [our current project / our Q1 planning / our architecture review].

Happy to talk through the details.
