AWS Summit Johannesburg FAQs

Summit FAQs

  • 08:00AM on Thursday 29 August.

  • To collect your AWS Summit Johannesburg event badge, you will need the QR code from your confirmation email as well as government issued photo ID. A reminder of this will be sent closer to the event.

  • If you are taking part in a workshop please remember to bring your laptop, charger and any external devices you may require. Please note, you must bring a laptop and not a tablet, with WiFi networking (not wired networking). If you're using a corporate laptop please ensure that it can connect via WiFi and doesn't require wired networking.

  • The AWS Summit Johannesburg app will be available to download one week before the event and will allow you to view all sessions taking place, manage your calendar for the day of the event and more. More details will be share with registered attendees closer to the time.

  • If you offer to have your badge scanned by a sponsor or at a sponsor-branded session, you are requesting AWS share your name, contact information, title, and company with that sponsor so it may contact you by email, phone, and post for marketing purposes. This is optional - you may choose not to offer your badge. For questions, please refer to the AWS Privacy Notice. Contact the sponsor to unsubscribe from the sponsor’s marketing communications. Providing the sponsor with your information may involve transferring it to another country. For questions about how the sponsor will handle your information, please contact the sponsor directly or refer to its privacy policy.

  • There are close to 11 000 parking pays are available to Sandton Convention Centre visitors, with the entrance to the parking arcade on Alice Lane, between West and 5th Streets in Sandton.

  • It is easily accessible from O.R. Tambo International Airport and only 15 minutes via the Gautrain – the state-of-the-art rapid rail network launched in 2010. The Gautrain links Sandton with Pretoria, central Johannesburg and O.R. Tambo International Airport. The Gautrain station is a convenient 5-minute walk from the Sandton Convention Centre.
