    Whether you’re an AWS enthusiast or a brand new user, there’s something for everyone at the AWS Summit Johannesburg.

    All AWS Summits feature a keynote address highlighting the latest announcements and customer testimonials, technical sessions led by AWS experts, and hands-on technical training. Our wide variety of sessions are designed to help all levels of AWS user connect, collaborate and learn.

    You will learn best practices for deploying applications on AWS, optimizing performance, monitoring cloud resources, managing security, cutting costs, and more. You will also have opportunities to meet AWS staff and partners to get your technical questions answered.

    The event will be held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, 19 Richards Dr, Halfway House, Midrand, 1685, South Africa on August 19,2026.

    South Africa offers various safe and affordable transport options for international visitors, from car rentals, Gautrain to ride-hailing services, all detailed below to ensure a hassle-free journey.

    1.  Driving and parking:

    Parking is located opposite the convention center and can accommodate 5000 cars, Gallagher Convention Centre parking prescient is a quick walk across to the venue. (Click here) Parking entrances are on Richards Drive. Please be advised that there is no parking in Gallagher Convention Centre and suggest you make use of other means of transport to the venue.

    *Please note that Hall 1 Parking Bays will be closed for the day*

    Disabled parking:

    Accessible parking is available across multiple areas of the venue:

    1.

    Parking – Level 1: 4 designated accessible (paraplegic) bays

    Parking – Level 2: 2 designated accessible bays

    Parking – Block B (in front of Hall 5): 7 designated accessible bays

    Please note that all bays are clearly marked for ease of access.

    2. Gautrain & Shuttle Drop-Off:

    The nearest Gautrain station to the venue is Midrand Gautrain Station. Complimentary Gautrain shuttle services will operate between Midrand Gautrain Station and Gallagher Convention Centre throughout the event.

    Guests making use of the Gautrain are encouraged to follow the designated event signage at the station for the shuttle pick-up point.

    E-hailing services such as Uber and Bolt are also readily available from the station for direct access to the venue.

    No. Registration is complimentary and includes access to sessions, Expo, meals, and receptions.

    We don't have a dedicated hotel block for this event, but you can review nearby Johannesburg hotels here.

    No, AWS does not reimburse or validate parking or other accommodation and travel associated costs.

    There is no dress code for attendees. Attendee attire varies from business casual, suits, hoodies, and jeans. Please wear what you are comfortable in.

    Yes. All attendees must be at least 18 years of age on the day they pick up their conference badge.

    To check-in and collect your event badge, bring your QR code (sent via email) and a government-issued photo ID. A reminder will be sent closer to the event.

    Your ticket has been created specifically for you, and the AWS Event Terms and Conditions do not permit the transfer of tickets.

    AWS expects all participants (attendees, staff, speakers, sponsors, etc.) to comply with the Code of Conduct and behave in such a way as to create a safe, supportive environment while at the conference and any conference-related events. Review the full Code of Conduct here.

    No. We do not offer continuing or professional education credits, or a certificate of attendance.

    Once you have completed the registration process you will receive a confirmation email  within 5 working days to the email address you used to register for the Johannesburg Summit.

    The event agenda will be posted on the agenda page linked in the navigation as soon as it becomes available.

    No. Space in the keynote hall is limited and registering for AWS Summit does not guarantee keynote access. The keynote will be livestreamed in the Expo and in breakout rooms to accommodate overflow seating.

    No, there is no reserved seating. All seats are first come, first seated, so please arrive early to sessions you are interested in seeing.

Accessibility & Inclusion

    We will have the following services available for the duration of AWS Summit Johannesburg: sign language during the Keynote, closed captions on screens, and designated seating for wheelchair access. The venue is fully accessible for wheelchair users. To inquire about any of these services or to request a service not listed above, please contact us at aws-summit-johannesburg@amazon.com

    Yes, dedicated wellness space, including a private lactation room, will be available onsite for attendees who may require them during the event. Please visit the information desk should you need assistance.
