Ryan left AWS to serve as the Global CIO of Western Union and has now returned to AWS as an AWS Executive in Residence. He brings a unique perspective with 15+ years of industry experience paired with 8+ years as an Amazonian and has practical experience in applying Amazon practices and mechanisms in a 150+ year old global financial services company. He has extensive experience leading large enterprise business transformations enabled through digital solutions, IT modernization, and portfolio simplification across multiple industries including healthcare, energy, insurance, financial services, aerospace, and pharmaceuticals. His expertise in helping organizations realign their technology strategy to their business strategy and objectives, coupled with his passion for organizational design and enablement, makes him effective in helping organizations build strategies that get things done.
