Align with your data isolation, in-country data residency, and digital sovereignty needs with configurable infrastructure that can be deployed in any location you choose.
Enhanced security and governance controls
Monitor and control access to your applications and data to help achieve compliance with the most stringent regulatory standards.
Consistent AWS experience
Innovate faster without compromising on control with a fully-managed infrastructure that provides the same experience, services, APIs, and tools as AWS Regions.
Use cases
Digital sovereignty
Dedicated Local Zones offers additional security and governance features to help public sector organizations including agencies across federal, state, and local governments align with digital sovereignty and compliance requirements for their classified and other sensitive workloads. Organizations have the flexibility to strategically place Dedicated Local Zones in specific countries or jurisdictions of their choice based on their regulatory requirements.
Hybrid migration
Organizations in regulated industries such as healthcare and financial services looking to migrate to the cloud may have a large number of workloads that have complex dependencies with on-premises systems. Dedicated Local Zones can help these organizations gradually migrate and modernize workloads over a longer term on the same set of AWS services as the Regions, while maintaining low latency to their on-premises systems.
Research cloud
Researchers in higher education and research institutions can leverage Dedicated Local Zones to run workloads in their own data centers leveraging the latest generation of compute to help meet regulatory requirements.
Secure cloud for proprietary software
Dedicated Local Zones provide on premises infrastructure for high tech companies looking to run proprietary software that is subject to internal security policies on dedicated infrastructure to help protect IP and sensitive data.
AWS is a strategic partner and has been since the beginning of our cloud journey. Singapore Government's Smart Nation and Digital Government Group (SNDGG) collaborated with AWS to define and build Dedicated Local Zones to help us meet our stringent data isolation and security requirements, enabling Singapore to run more sensitive workloads in the cloud securely. In addition to helping the Singapore government meet its cybersecurity requirements, Dedicated Local Zones enable us to offer its agencies a seamless and consistent cloud experience.
