AWS AI Startup Challenge 규정

Please read these terms and conditions (these “T&Cs”) before entering the AWS AI Startup Challenge (the “Contest”). By entering or otherwise participating in the Contest, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these T&Cs.

[참여 가능 대상]
AWS의 AI 솔루션을 하나 이상 활용할 수 있고 사업화할 수 있는 B2B 또는 B2C 서비스/애플리케이션을 개발 또는 계획 중인 스타트업 또는 예비창업팀이 참여할 수 있습니다. 해당 팀은 대한민국에 주소지가 있어야 하며 구성원은 만 19세 이상의 개인 3인 이상이어야 합니다. 스타트업의 규모 또는 존속기간에는 제한이 없습니다. 참여하는 심사위원으로부터 투자를 받은 적이 있어도 참여할 수 있지만, 투자를 집행한 심사위원은 해당 팀의 심사에서 제외됩니다.

[참여 불가능 대상]
타사의 업무를 대행하는 에이전시 또는 컨설팅 기업 및 본 챌린지의 기획, 홍보, 지원 또는 혜택사항 제공, 운영을 담당하는 팀 또는 기업은 참여할 수 없습니다.

[심사 기준]
1차 서류평가는 위의 참여 가능 대상 팀에서 제출한 지원 신청서 및 기타 자료를 AWS와 심사위원단에서 서비스/애플리케이션 구상과 기술적 경쟁력에 대하여 평가를 하며 2차 평가에서는 심사위원 대상으로 발표와 질의응답을 거쳐 기술 성숙도와 사업화 기획을 종합적으로 평가할 예정입니다. 딥러닝 분야와 머신러닝 애플리케이션 분야에서 스타트업의 존속기간 및 성숙도에 따라 나누어 심사가 이루어집니다.

[AWS 사용 여부에 대한 요건]
지원 신청서를 접수하는 시점에서는 AWS를 사용하고 있지 않아도 됩니다. 하지만 1차 서류평가 통과 이후에는 AWS의 AI 솔루션을 하나 이상 사용해야 발표평가를 받을 수 있습니다. AWS에서 제공하는 AI 솔루션은 다음과 같으며 서류평가 통과 팀에는 관련 교육과 실습 지원을 제공할 예정입니다: Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Comprehend, Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly, Amazon Rekognition, Amazon Machine Learning, Amazon Translate, Amazon Transcribe, AWS 딥러닝 AMI, AWS 기반 Apache MXNet, AWS 기반 Tensorflow

[참여 신청 방법]
https://aws.amazon.com/ko/events/ai-startup-challenge/ 의 상단의 지금 지원하기 버튼을 클릭하여 개인정보를 입력해주시면 신청 지원서를 다운로드 받을 수 있습니다. 해당 지원서의 필수항목을 작성하고 신청서에 서명을 하여 aws-ai-challenge@amazon.com으로 보내주시면 됩니다. 기타 첨부 자료를 모두 포함하여 보내시는 이메일의 크기는 5MB 이하여야 합니다. 5MB를 초과할 경우 링크로 제공해주시기 바랍니다.

[참여 신청 기간]
2018년 2월 14일 자정에 마감입니다. 그 이전에는 지원 신청서 및 제공 자료에 수정할 필요가 있을 경우 다시 aws-ai-challenge@amazon.com으로 보내주시면 됩니다. 2018년 2월 15일 00:00시 이후에는 AWS에서 개별적으로 시정을 요청하는 경우를 제외하고는 수정사항 또는 신규 지원을 받지 않습니다.

[참여신청 선착순 100개 팀에 주는 $300 크레딧 전달 일정]
참여신청 선착순 100개 팀에는 2018년 2월 21일까지 서면평가 결과 이메일과 함께 크레딧 적용방법 안내를 드릴 겁니다. 2018년 2월 21일까지 해당 크레딧 적용 안내를 받지 못하는 팀은 선착순 100개 팀에 해당되지 않은 경우입니다.

[결과 선정, 통보 방법 및 기간]
1차 서류평가 결과는 2018년 2월 21일에 이메일로 개별 통보합니다. 이는 주최 및 심사위원 사정에 따라 변동될 수 있습니다. 2차 발표평가는 2018년 4월 첫째 주에 이루어집니다. 2차 발표평가 선정 결과는 별도 이메일 또는 전화로 개별 통보합니다. 단, 2차 발표평가를 통한 선정 통보 일정 및 결과는 주최 및 심사위원 사정에 따라 변동될 수 있습니다.

[우승팀 동의사항]
1차 서류평가 통과 팀은 AWS MAR (Marketing Agreement Release) 마케팅 동의서를 통해 AWS가 본 챌린지에 제출하시는 로고, 팀 정보, 서비스/애플리케이션 정보 등을 활용하는 데 동의해주셔야 합니다. 동의하지 않는 경우 챌린지 참가가 무효화 처리가 됩니다.

Warranties. By submitting an entry (“Entry”), you represent and warrant that (a) you have all rights to the content in your Entry (including any software, data, text, audio, video, or images, and any individual’s name, likeness, photograph or image) (the “Entry Content”) required to grant us the license in “Use of Your Entry” below, (b) the Entry content does not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity right, or other personal, proprietary or intellectual property right of any person or entity, and (c) the Entry Content is not defamatory, libelous, obscene, or otherwise illegal or inappropriate for the intended audience.

Disqualification. We reserve the right to disqualify your Entry if we determine in our sole discretion that your Entry does not comply with any requirement set forth in these T&Cs, or that you have breached any of the warranties in “Warranties” above.

Use of AWS Marks. AWS may specify and make available to you trade names, trademarks, service marks, logos or other commercial symbols of AWS or any of its affiliates (collectively, “AWS Marks”) for use in your Entry, and in so doing, AWS grants you a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, revocable license to use such AWS Marks solely for purposes of preparing and submitting your Entry. You will not use any AWS Marks except as set forth in these terms and conditions. When using any AWS Marks, you must follow the AWS Trademark Guidelines posted on the AWS website at http://aws.amazon.com/trademark-guidelines/, as updated from time to time. Except as expressly described in this Section, no rights to AWS Marks or AWS’s copyrights, patent or other intellectual property rights are transferred or licensed pursuant to these T&Cs.

Use of Your Entry. By submitting an Entry, you grant to us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display the Entry Content throughout the world in any media and for any purpose.  

Indemnity. You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us, our affiliates and licensors, and each of their respective employees, officers, directors, and representatives from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to any third party claim concerning: (a) your breach of any warranty in these T&Cs, (b) violation of any applicable law, rule, regulation or ordinance by your Entry, or (c) alleged infringement or misappropriation of third-party rights by your Entry or by the use of your entry by AWS as licensed under “Use of AWS Marks”.  

Warranty Disclaimers.  ALL PRIZES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS.” TO THE EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY APPLICABLE LAW, AWS, ITS AFFILIATES AND ITS LICENSORS MAKE NO OTHER REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, REGARDING THE PRIZES OR ANY MATERIALS OR INFORMATION PROVIDED BY A THIRD PARTY IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRIZES (“THIRD-PARTY CONTENT”), AND DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED OR EXPRESS WARRANTIES (A) OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR QUIET ENJOYMENT, (B) ARISING OUT OF ANY COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE, AND (C) THAT THE PRIZES OR THIRD-PARTY CONTENT WILL BE FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Liability. THE PROMOTER AND ITS AFFILIATES OR LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU UNDER ANY CAUSE OF ACTION OR THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF A PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, FOR ANY (A) INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR (B) LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, CUSTOMERS, OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL.  WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE T&CS OF THE PROMOTER AND ITS AFFILIATES OR LICENSORS WILL NOT EXCEED USD 2,500.00.

Miscellaneous. We and our affiliates will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under this Agreement where the delay or failure results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, labor disputes or other industrial disturbances, systemic electrical, telecommunications, or other utility failures, earthquake, storms or other elements of nature, blockages, embargoes, riots, acts or orders of government, acts of terrorism, or war. The failure by us to enforce any provision of this Agreement will not constitute a present or future waiver of such provision nor limit our right to enforce such provision at a later time. All waivers by us must be in writing to be effective. If any provision herein is held invalid, illegal or unenforceable, such invalidity, illegality or unenforceability will not affect any other provision hereof, and the parties will thereafter use best efforts to substitute a provision of similar economic intent and effect. The laws of Singapore, without reference to conflict of law rules, govern these T&Cs and any dispute relating to the Contest that might arise between the parties. Unless otherwise agreed by the parties, any dispute arising out of or relating to these T&Cs or the Contest will be resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“SIAC”) in accordance with the then-applicable Arbitration Rules of the SIAC, and judgment on the arbitral award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. The arbitration will take place in Singapore. There will be three arbitrators. The fees and expenses of the arbitrators and the administering authority, if any, will be paid in equal proportion by the parties. The arbitration proceedings will be conducted in English.
