Open Source at AWS

Connecting cloud, community, and code

Amazon Web Services is part of the open source community: we've been contributing to hundreds of projects for over a decade. We continue to widen our open source collaboration to increase code contributions, and to help sustain the overall health of open source. We are committed to working with, supporting, and contributing to new and existing open source projects that provide value to our customers and partners.

Projects & Code

We make contributions large, medium, and small to open source projects such as Linux, Chromium, Xen, and Apache MXNet. We have open sourced hundreds of projects of our own, including s2n, Amplify, SAM CLI, SDKs, and even our documentation. Our code is released under popular open source licenses including Apache 2.0.
