AWS Service Catalog, used by enterprises, system integrators, and managed service providers to organize, govern, and provision cloud resources on AWS, now supports the ability for you to use AWS CloudFormation to create Service Catalog resources.

With this feature release, you can configure your desired Service Catalog environment in a reusable CloudFormation template. This helps you to simplify and standardize your Service Catalog setup across your enterprise environment. You can create CloudFormation templates to configure portfolios and products, associate users to portfolios, and associate TagOptions to portfolios and products.

This new feature also enables you to create your own reusable administrative Service Catalog products to replicate your Service Catalog environments across regions and accounts, reducing manual work and human error, and eliminating the need for custom coding.

To find the supported Service Catalog resources on using this feature with CloudFormation templates, please see the CloudFormation Resource Types Reference. To learn more about AWS Service Catalog, click here.
