AWS Security Token Service Now Supports AWS PrivateLink in US West (Oregon) Region

Posted on: Jul 31, 2018

Starting today, AWS Security Token Service supports AWS PrivateLink in the US West (Oregon) region, enabling you to route data between your Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Security Token Service entirely within the AWS network.

AWS Security Token Service is a web service that enables you to request temporary, limited-privilege credentials for AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) users or for users that you authenticate (federated users). By using Security Token Service with Amazon VPC endpoints, you can now keep credential-related, encrypted communication within the AWS network and help meet your compliance and regulatory requirements to limit public internet connectivity.

Support for AWS PrivateLink in AWS Security Token Service is available in the US West (Oregon) region. Learn more by reading the AWS Security Token Service User Guide.
