Amazon FSx for Lustre Now Supports Access from Amazon Linux

You can now access Amazon FSx for Lustre file systems from Amazon EC2 instances running the Amazon Linux or Amazon Linux 2 Amazon Machine Image (AMI).

Amazon FSx for Lustre provides high-performance file systems for processing data stored on Amazon S3 or on-premises data stores. FSx for Lustre's file systems are performance-optimized for data processing workloads that include machine learning, high performance computing (HPC), video processing, financial modeling, and electronic design automation (EDA). Starting today, you can access FSx for Lustre file systems from an Amazon EC2 instance running Amazon Linux or Amazon Linux 2 by installing the open-source Lustre client from the Amazon Linux package repository. Amazon Linux complements the broad set of Linux-based operating systems already supported by FSx for Lustre, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, SUSE Linux, and Ubuntu.

Fsx for Lustre file systems can be accessed from Amazon Linux in all regions where FSx for Lustre is available. Learn more about installing the Lustre client on Amazon Linux or Amazon Linux 2 here.
