You can now use Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) to deliver messages to Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose. This new subscription type for SNS enables message storage, analytics, and auditing by providing a simple way to send Amazon SNS messages to data lakes, data stores, and analytics services.
This integration makes it easier for customers using Amazon SNS to collect data for analytics and to keep records for backup or audit in applications such as e-commerce and banking. You can use Amazon SNS topics with Kinesis Data Firehose subscriptions to capture, transform, buffer, compress and upload data to Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Redshift, Amazon Elasticsearch Service (Amazon ES), HTTP endpoints, and third party service providers such as Datadog, New Relic, MongoDB, and Splunk. With this feature, you can deliver Amazon SNS messages to these destinations without writing custom code.
At launch, Kinesis Data Firehose subscriptions for Amazon SNS are available in 22 AWS Regions. You can subscribe a Kinesis Data Firehose delivery stream to an Amazon SNS standard topic by using the AWS Software Development Kit (SDK), AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), AWS Management Console, or AWS CloudFormation.
