Jaleel Holdings reduces order processing time by 10% using Amazon Bedrock
In a Nutshell
To match the pace of the fast-moving consumer goods industry, investment company Jaleel Holdings needed an automated, transparent system to select suppliers. The company built a proof of concept in 45 days using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and support from Flentas Technologies, an AWS Partner.
Automating pricing acceptance using Amazon Bedrock
Based in the United Arab Emirates, Jaleel Holding invests in businesses across wholesale, distribution, and food processing. Its fresh produce and cash-and-carry businesses require efficiency to get products to consumers quickly.
Previously, employees had to call suppliers to get daily price updates. As the businesses grew, Jaleel Holdings wanted to automate the manual process. The company was using AWS for disaster recovery and wanted to build on its high-performing, cost-effective infrastructure for generative artificial intelligence. Together with Flentas Technologies, Jaleel Holdings created a solution using Amazon Bedrock, a comprehensive, secure, and flexible service for building generative artificial intelligence applications and agents.
Suppliers for the company’s fresh produce and cash-and-carry businesses now enter daily prices into the solution. They can see if their price is the lowest and adjust it if desired. After the bidding window, the system selects the best option, considering the price alongside the supplier rating. Suppliers can also use a chatbot that uses generative artificial intelligence to answer common questions. “In traditional industries like ours, digitization is the only way ahead,” says Sameer Mohamed, managing director at Jaleel Holdings. “We need to be willing to change and find the right partner to help. It’s been a wonderful journey on AWS.”
Reducing errors and order processing time while increasing reliability and transparency
For the database, Jaleel Holdings uses Amazon Aurora—unparalleled high performance and availability at global scale for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DSQL. The solution serves as an audit trail that documents decision-making. “Suppliers feel more confident about participating knowing that it is a much more transparent process with real-time visibility of the status of their bid,” says Mohamed.
Using automation, Jaleel Holdings reduced order processing time by 10 percent and helped improve the reach to suppliers. It can also consider prices from more suppliers instead of the two or three that employees could call. “The solution frees up time so that our employees are doing more productive work instead of mundane tasks,” says Mohamed.
Overall, Jaleel Holdings has seen an increase in supplier reliability and a 15 percent increase in participation. Suppliers reliably deliver because they know the solution considers past ratings when selecting bids.
Increasing adoption of solution built on AWS
Jaleel Holdings has implemented the solution fully for one of its businesses and is continuing to increase adoption across others. “This solution, built on AWS, empowers us to reimagine efficiency and growth, shaping a smarter future for our businesses,” says Mohamed.
