AWS Config now supports Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) in all AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. AWS Config provides a detailed view of the configuration of AWS resources in your AWS account. This includes how the resources are related to one another and how they were configured in the past so that you can see how the configurations and relationships changed over time.
With this launch, you can track changes to the configuration of an Amazon SNS topic. These configuration changes include the topic access policy, ownership, version, tag, server-side encryption, and subscription details. You can also create AWS Config rules that are triggered by changes. These rules help you verify whether the changes comply with your internal governance policies, regulatory standards, and best practices on a continuous and real-time basis.
Get started by enabling AWS Config in your account by using the AWS Config console or the AWS CLI. Select the resource types for which you want to track changes. If you previously configured AWS Config to record all resource types, then Amazon SNS resources will be automatically recorded in your account.
There are no additional Amazon SNS costs to use these features. For configuration items and AWS Config rules, AWS Config charges apply. For the full list of services supported by AWS Config, visit the Supported AWS Resources Types webpage.
