AWS Week in Review – November 24, 2014

Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, November 24	We announced that Amazon Elastic Transcoder Now Supports Media File Encryption. We announced that the Amazon WorkSpaces Bundle and Updated Standard Bundles are now Available in the Asia Pacific (Tokyo) Region. The Infinite Wandering blog published an AWS Lambda Proof of Concept: Building an Image Index. A post on the AWS Startup Collection told the story of Segment: Scaling a Week-Long Hack Project to Billions of Events a Month.
Tuesday, November 25	We announced that Route 53 Hosted Zone Comments are now Editable. The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog talked about the new DynamoDB JSON Support in the AWS SDK for .NET. A post on the Cloudability Blog described How Cloudability helps HGST run massive workloads on AWS. The Gathering Clouds Blog continued its DevOps series by talking about How DevOps can Improve Reliability When Deploying with AWS.
Wednesday, November 26	We announced that the AWS Data Pipeline now Supports Parameterized Templates. The AWS Big Data Blog showed you how to do ETL Processing Using AWS Data Pipeline and Amazon Elastic MapReduce. A post on the Amazon Mobile App Distribution Blog showed you how to Increase Player Engagement with GameCircle Friends. The AWS Ruby Development Blog reviewed the new Client Response Stubs.
Thursday, November 27	Greg Berg‘s ya-sqs is yet another Amazon SQS wrapper. It features pull, push, error management, and promises and works with Node.js.
Friday, November 28	Developer Mitch Garnaat released Kappa, a Command Line Tool for AWS Lambda.
