EC2 Beta Expansion

The response to the beta rollout of the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) was excellent. Many developers signed up and were able to start creating their scalable, on-demand applications.

However, the product is still in beta and not everyone was able to get in. Everyone on the team has been besieged with emails from people they last knew in the 4th grade, friends of friends, and so forth. It is always great to be remembered.

We are now opening up slots for additional beta testers. Email invitations have already been sent to developers who have previously expressed interest in the Amazon EC2 beta. If you are in receipt of said email, stop reading this message now, go get yourself signed up, and move your application to EC2 now.

If you have yet to express your interest in the EC2 beta you may still be able to get in! Visit the Amazon EC2 home page and click on the button labeled “Sign Up For Web Service.” Requests will be fulfilled on a first-come first-serve basis. If you don’t get there in time your name will be placed on the signup list and your turn will come soon.

Thanks for your patience and for your enthusiasm.
