Get Ready for AWS re:Invent – Registration is Open!

Planning for this year’s AWS re:Invent conference started just days after we returned home from Las Vegas last fall and now we’re ready to share them with you!

AWS re:Invent will return to Las Vegas, running from November 12 to 15 at the Venetian Hotel and the adjoining Conference Center. We have pulled out all of the stops to inform, educate, entertain, surprise, and delight you. We have 16 parallel tracks (over 1/3 of the sessions will be presented by AWS customers), plenty of deep technical content, a day of technical training, and a lot more than I can’t talk about just yet. I can’t wait to be there.

Register for re:Invent 2013 today!

The first re:Invent conference was definitely a memorable time for me.

After spending many years talking to anyone who would listen about web services, cloud computing, and programmable infrastructure, the first re:Invent conference justified and validated my efforts, along with those of so many of my incredibly smart and hard-working colleagues. There was a palpable sense that AWS had finally arrived, that those early customers who had believed in it had made a wise decision, and that those who had dismissed the cloud as a fad or as some sort of experiment were missing out by not sharing in the experience.

I enjoyed walking the show floor to see just how many of our partners had either incorporated AWS into their existing business models or created entirely new and innovative products and businesses around it.

I was able to interview a number of AWS users for The AWS Report, and even did some live interviews on stage. This was a totally new experience for me and one that took me out of my comfort zone. And that’s what life is all about, isn’t it?

It was awesome to get to meet so many of my readers. It seemed like I couldn’t walk ten feet without having someone come up and say hello.

The party was a blast, with something for everyone — lights, lasers, music, food, retro video games to play, and limited-edition re:Invent t-shirts for the attendees:

Last year’s conference was completely sold out and you wouldn’t believe how many people begged me for tickets at the very last minute. Attendance is limited; I encourage you to register now to avoid missing out.

See you in Vegas!
