Important Updates for the Amazon Web Services Global Start-Up Challenge

I have some important news to share with you regarding this years AWS Global Start-Up Challenge!
New Contest Close Date December 5, 2012
We are extending the close date of the contest to Wednesday December 5, 2012, instead of Friday November 9, 2012. We hope this will give you more time to complete your application and submit before the deadline.
If you have already submitted your application, you can go back and modify your entry through YouNoodle. To do this, youll need to unclick the submit button, make your changes, and then submit the entry form again. Please email awsstartups@amazon.com if you experience any issues while trying to update your entry.
New Judging Timeline
As we have changed the contest close date to December 5, this means that our internal judging timeline has also changed:
First Round Judging: We will review applications for the Challenge in mid-December, and announce the Semi-Finalists in late December.
Second Round Judging: We will review the Semi-Finalist applications in late December, and announce the Finalists in early January.

Final Judging Event San Francisco, CA
The final judging round will take place on January 23-24, 2013 at the W hotel in San Francisco, California. 12 finalists will be flown from their place of residence to participate in the final judging round, where they will present to the Amazon Web Services Executive Team, as well as rep representatives from VC firms such as Sequoia, First Round Capital and Madrona.
After the final judging round, we will be hosting a finale event at DogPatch Wine Works in San Francisco, CA where we will announce the 4 Grand Prize Winners. Here, the 12 finalists will get to present to a large audience of start-ups, entrepreneurs and like-minded business professionals. This event is open to everyone to attend; registration for this event will be announced shortly. I look forward to meeting with you who are able to join us.
