The AWS Recruiting Team is coming to Minneapolis, Nashville and Houston

A quick look at the AWS Job List will tell you that the AWS team is hiring Software Development Engineers & Managers, Software Testing Engineers/Managers, Product Managers & Marketing Managers,Developer Support Engineers, Technical Program Managers, Sales Representatives, and Business Development Representatives.

One of our biggest challenges is finding skilled engineers and engineering managers who want to take on the challenge of building the future infrastructure platform for the Internet.

On May 17th and 18th we will be holding recruiting events in Houston, Minneapolis, and Nashville. We’ll be hiring for positions in the US, Europe, Asia, and South Africa.

Engineers from several AWS teams will be onsite in to interview candidates and answer questions about what its like to work on the largest cloud computing platform in the world. Here is a sampling of the teams that will be represented in each city:

  • Compute EC2, Elastic Map Reduce, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing
  • Storage S3, Elastic Block Store
  • Database RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache
  • Networking VPC, Route 53, Direct Connect
  • Application Services SQS, Simple Workflow, Simple Notification Service
  • Content Delivery CloudFront
  • Deployment & Management Identity & Access Management, CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudWatch
  • Client Applications Amazon Silk Web Browser

This coming August will mark the ten year anniversary of my start date here. I have not had a boring day yet, and I can’t tell you just how much fun it is to work with such a great team of skilled, energetic, and knowledgeable folks. We are driven to meet the needs of our customers, and we never miss up an opportunity to talk to them to learn how we can do an even better job of meeting their needs. This isn’t a country club, and we expect you to do whatever it takes to get the job done. We don’t play political games, we collect lots of data and let it speak for itself as part of a well-reasoned proposal. It is all refreshingly straightforward, and it forms the basis for a very healthy corporate culture.
