Announcing the London AWS Pop-up Loft: Coming September 10th

Yesterday we announced the imminent arrival of the London AWS Pop-up Loft, a new co-working & event space that’ll run from 10th September — 29th October at WeWork’s brand new Moorgate location in Central London.

What is the London AWS Pop-up Loft All About?

The Loft is a community space where you can access a wide range of features, activities, and events geared towards UK Startups, including Talks & Presentations from AWS Experts covering everything from Scaling your Startup with AWS through to sessions on Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon EC2.

• Technical Bootcamps: If you’re looking for in-depth, hands-on sessions, we’ve got you covered. You can take a deep-dive into AWS Services with our Technical Bootcamps, full & half-day sessions designed to provide you with the skills & knowledge to implement AWS services in the real-world. Usually these cost £400, but at the London AWS Pop-up Loft we are offering them for free.
• Self-Paced, Hands-on Labs: Prefer to learn at your own pace? Then participate in Self-Paced Hands-On Labs, where all you need is your laptop — we’ll provide the coffee & Wifi. Again, we’re offering these for free at the Loft.
• IoT Lab: In addition to talks & bootcamps, we’ve also been working hard to fit out the Loft with a few ‘killer features’, such as our IoT Lab, which will showcase a number of IoT Devices running on AWS. The IoT Lab is the outcome of an internal Hackathon with our own Solutions Architects — you’ll get the chance to pick their brains on the architectural decisions behind each device, and gain an understanding of what’s possible with IoT on AWS.
• Ask an Architect bar: If you’re looking to gain technical advice on topics such as AWS architecture, cost optimization, services & features, and anything else AWS related, then book a 60-minute session with an AWS Solutions Architect at our ‘Ask an Architect’ bar. Walk-ins our welcome though we highly recommend booking in advance to ensure we can meet with you.

Sounds Good. How Do I Get Involved?

Getting involved is fairly straightforward — sign-up for a free Loft membership via the London AWS Pop-up Loft website, pick a few sessions to get started, and you’re good to go.

Creating a Loft membership provides access to the Loft (co-working space, coffee, free Wifi, gaming area & IoT Lab), though you’ll need to register for individual sessions ahead of time through the site (we’ll then know how much coffee to bring).

When is the Loft Open?

We’ll be open from 9AM — 6PM, Monday to Friday. In addition to our sessions, we’ll also be throwing a number of evening events throughout September & October — sign-up as a Loft member to receive regular updates.

Where’s the Loft Again?

The London AWS Pop-Up Loft will be located on the 6th Floor of WeWork’s brand new Moorgate location; a short walk from Moorgate & Liverpool Tube Stations and in close proximity to both the City & Old Street.
