Amazon RDS for SQL Server Supports Windows Authentication in Additional Regions

Posted on: Jul 24, 2017

Amazon RDS for SQL Server is expanding the availability of Windows Authentication support to the Canada (Central), EU (London), and Asia Pacific (Seoul) regions.

You can enable Windows Authentication when creating a new database, or add it to an existing database. Credential information should be stored in the AWS Directory Service for Microsoft Active Directory. Please note that AWS Directory Service will be billed at standard rates, but there are no additional charges for using Windows Authentication.

Amazon RDS for SQL Server makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale SQL Server deployments in the cloud. For more information on Windows Authentication support, see the documentation. Please visit Amazon RDS for SQL Server Pricing for complete regional availability information.
