by AWS Editorial Team | 20 May 2025 | Thought Leadership
Overview
Mark your calendars for AWS Summit Sydney 2025, returning to the International Convention Centre (ICC) 4-5 June for two action-packed days of cloud innovation, technical learning, and networking opportunities. This free, premier event brings together the Australian cloud computing community to explore how Amazon Web Services is enabling businesses to build better, innovate faster, and transform their operations.
This year's Summit features two distinct tracks: Builders Day and Innovation Day, each designed to provide unique value for technical practitioners and business leaders, respectively. Whether you're a developer looking to enhance your skills or a software company executive seeking to drive digital transformation, AWS Summit Sydney offers sessions tailored to the needs of any software and technology company leader.
In this article, we'll highlight three must-attend sessions from each track that showcase the latest in cloud technology, from practical hands-on workshops to strategic discussions about emerging trends. You'll discover how Australian companies are using AWS to solve complex challenges and create new possibilities for their software businesses.
Builders Day on 4 June, 2025
- Level 300 | Build and scale reliable multi-agent systems on AWS
This session unveils the transformative potential of agentic applications. Discover how to build intelligent, scalable, and reliable agentic systems using Amazon Bedrock and Claude tools. Learn the architectural patterns, best practices, and trade-offs for implementing multi-agent applications. Hear AWS customer BGL demonstrate how they've used these technologies to transform the user experience of its SaaS platform for Self-Managed Super Funds, and help their customers improve productivity. - Level 300 | Building generative AI-powered products: a real-world journey to scale and impact
Businesses are racing to infuse generative AI into their products to unlock new levels of efficiency, creativity, and decision-making. Discover how Lexer, a customer data platform SaaS provider, successfully integrated generative AI into their product. Aaron Wallis, Founder & CTO of Lexer, will share their key decisions, challenges, and measurable outcomes. Frank Tan, Senior Solutions Architect from AWS will unpack some common challenges from Lexer’s journey, and walk through how you can address them using Amazon Bedrock, covering practical guidance on security and privacy, generative AI application safety, model selection, QA and cost management. - Level 400 | From DevOps to MLOps: Master large-scale ML batch inferencing
Traditional DevOps mastered large-scale deployments through automation, monitoring, and infrastructure as code. MLOps faces similar challenges with batch inference, but with added complexity of model behavior and data dependencies. Through AWS customer Nearmap’s journey of processing massive aerial imagery, learn how DevOps principles transformed into MLOps practices, reducing inference time from months to days.
Innovation Day on 5 June, 2025
- Level 200 | Drive profitable growth with innovative products
In this session we will dive into how business leaders, such as Chief Product and Revenue Officers, at software companies can evolve their innovation agendas to stay ahead in a rapidly changing landscape. With generative AI reshaping possibilities across the industry, leaders must balance bold innovation with practical considerations like capital efficiency, R&D priorities, and profitability—especially amid economic uncertainty. This session will discuss strategies and proven tactics in driving profitable growth through three lenses: digital product differentiation, expanding top-line growth, and improving operational excellence. - Level 200 | Software in the age of human and AI collaboration: Preparing people and value-propositions
Predicting the future impact of technology can be an extrapolation of possibilities based on technology available today and its potential evolution. Generative AI is expected to be a net positive influence, a foundational technology anticipated to be eventually integrated into many aspects of day-to-day life. It surfaces quite many questions, even fundamental ones such as: How does it influence value-propositions? How do we equip our people? What are the essential skills? Where do we begin? How do we know we are headed in the right direction? This session explores answers to those questions including looking back into the history of technology evolution to frame a logical path forward. - Level 200 | SaaS migration and modernisation: Balancing strategy and reality
The path to SaaS is different for all organisations. There are a range of different business and technical factors that influence how you choose to move an existing application to a multi-tenant delivery model. This session looks at a range of SaaS modernisation strategies and patterns, exploring the challenges and trade-offs associated with different approaches, helping you answer important questions.
