Sharing of Customer’s Personal Information in Compliance with The Act on the Protection of Personal Information in Japan

We may share your personal information with overseas third parties in cases where you provide consent, in compliance with the AWS Privacy Notice and the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

In these cases, the information regarding the system pertaining to the protection of personal information in the relevant foreign countries that we have obtained through appropriate and reasonable means in compliance with the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information is as follows.

In principle, every time we obtain your consent, we will provide you with the information regarding the measures taken by the third parties to protect personal information and the name of the countries where the third parties reside.

With respect to foreign sellers listing paid products on AWS Marketplace, the list of countries in which such foreign sellers may be located is provided on here.

With respect to foreign sellers listing free products on AWS Marketplace, the seller profile page on AWS Marketplace provides the relevant seller’s website which may provide information on the country in which the seller is located.

In addition, with respect to channel partners offering private offers on AWS Marketplace, the country in which the channel partner is located is provided here (for CPPO transaction) or here (for SPPO transaction).

If you are a Japanese resident or located in Japan and provide consent to share your personal information with foreign sponsors of AWS events, the list of countries in which the foreign sponsor may be located is as follows:

The foreign sellers on AWS Marketplace, and the foreign event sponsors who receive your personal information based on your consent are under obligation to meet a requirement that they have taken or are taking all measures that are equivalent to, or more protective of personal information than the measures in line with the eight principles under the OECD Guidelines Governing the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data.
