AWS RTB Fabric pricing
Pricing overview
With AWS RTB Fabric, you can connect to advertising technology companies anywhere, with no up-front commitments, to send real-time bidding (RTB) requests and responses through a private network within an AWS Region and/or outside of AWS RTB Fabric. When you use AWS RTB Fabric, you pay for the number of RTB requests and responses you send on a price per billion. The price you pay depends on your monthly volume, size, and RTB requests or responses you send, within or outside AWS RTB Fabric.
Note: Pricing varies by AWS Region. AWS RTB Fabric is available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt), and Europe (Ireland).
The AWS Free Tier is not available for AWS RTB Fabric.
RTB requests and responses refer to programmatic advertising transactions between ad sellers and ad buyers. For example, supply-side platforms (SSPs) send RTB requests to demand-side platforms (DSPs) to sell advertising space. DSPs send RTB responses to SSPs to bid on and purchase advertising space. With AWS RTB Fabric, you only pay for requests and responses you send, not for those your receive.
Your price depends on the number of RTB requests and responses (transactions) you send within or outside AWS RTB Fabric, size of transactions, and number of no-bid responses. Transactions sent within AWS RTB Fabric refers to the cumulative private RTB network traffic that is sent between AWS RTB Fabric customers in the same Region. RTB transactions sent outside AWS RTB Fabric refers to the cumulative RTB network traffic that is sent to parties external to AWS RTB Fabric (for example, operating in AWS but on using RTB Fabric, in an on-premises environment, or other cloud provider).
See below for the three dimensions that determine pricing:
1. Number of RTB requests and responses sent: You pay for the volume of RTB requests or responses that you send within or external to AWS RTB Fabric on a price-per-billion basis. The price you pay depends on the total monthly transaction volume you send within or external to AWS RTB Fabric. Pricing differs between your first two trillion transactions and anything over two trillion transactions per month; it also differs by AWS Region.

*The price per billion depends on your monthly volume and average size of the RTB transactions (requests and responses) you send within or outside AWS RTB Fabric. RTB traffic volume is measured in trillion (Tn) transactions per month. One trillion is equal to 1,000 billion. Pricing varies by AWS Region.
2. Size of excess payload for RTB requests and responses sent: Each RTB request and response includes 2 kilobytes (KB) or 2,048 bytes of data free of charge with AWS RTB Fabric. Additional charges only apply if the average size of your RTB requests or responses you send per month exceeds 2 kilobytes (KB) per transaction. You pay for the excess payload above 2 KB per transaction, on a price-per-gigabyte (GB) basis. The price you pay depends on the number of RTB transactions you send, within or outside AWS RTB Fabric. Pricing differs between your first two trillion transactions and anything over two trillion transactions per month; it also differs by AWS Region.

*The total monthly size of excess payload data for RTB requests and responses is measured in gigabytes (GB), calculated by summing only the bytes that exceed the 2KB (2048 bytes) free allowance per transaction. Pricing varies by AWS Region.
3. No-bid: No-bid responses refer to RTB requests that you receive but choose not to bid on. You pay a price per billion based on the total monthly number of no-bid RTB responses. The price you pay depends on the number of RTB no-bid responses you send within or outside AWS RTB Fabric. To learn more about no-bid responses, visit our documentation page.

Example 1 - Supply-side platform pricing (RTB requests inside AWS RTB Fabric)
You are a supply-side-platform (SSP) that supplies advertising inventory to demand-side platforms (DSPs). You want to send bid requests to two different DSPs. Both DSPs are using AWS RTB Fabric to receive bid requests. You want to send approximately 10 million queries per second (QPS) or 26.3 trillion monthly bid requests, with each request size 3,800 bytes on average. You send all bid requests to both DSPs inside AWS RTB Fabric. You send 60% of your traffic to the first DSP in US East (N. Virginia). You send your remaining 40% of your traffic to the second DSP in Europe (Frankfurt).
The following table summarizes your total charges for the month:
Total requests per month 26.3 trillion monthly bid requests 26.3 trillion monthly bid requests = 864 billion daily bid requests x 30.44 days = 10 million QPS x 86,400 seconds Monthly charges for RTB requests with DSP 1 and DSP 2 $45,450.24 + $24,839.86 Total charges for the number of RTB requests = price per billion for the first 2 trillion requests + price per billion for the remaining requests
$45,450.24 = $9,000.00 + $36,450.24 = ($4.50 per billion requests x 2,000) + ($1.50 per billion x 24,300) = 26.3 trillion monthly bid requests
Total charges for the extra bytes of RTB requests = price per GB for the first 2 trillion requests of extra data + price per GB for the remaining requests of extra data
Average request size: 3,800 bytes
Included per transaction: 2,048 bytes (2KB)
Extra bytes per request: 1,752 bytes = 3,800 bytes - 2,048 bytes
$24,839.86 = $5,256.00 + $19,583.86 = ($0.0015 per GB x 2 trillion requests x 1,752 bytes)+ ($0.00046 per GB x 24.3 trillion requests x 1,752 bytes)
Total monthly charges $70,290.10 $70,290.10 = $45,450.24 + $24,839.86 -
Example 2 - Supply-side platform pricing (RTB requests external to AWS RTB Fabric)
You are a supply-side-platform (SSP) that supplies advertising inventory to demand-side platforms (DSPs). You want to send bid requests to two different DSPs, who operate outside of AWS RTB Fabric. You want to send approximately 7.7 million queries per second (QPS) or 20 trillion monthly bid requests, with each request size 3,048 bytes on average. You send 50% of your bid requests to each DSP, external to AWS RTB Fabric. The first DSP is on an on-premises data center and you want to deploy your RTB workload in US West (Oregon). The second DSP operates outside AWS on another cloud provider and you want to deploy your RTB workload in Asia Pacific (Singapore).
The following table summarizes your total charges for the month:
Total requests per month 20.2 trillion monthly bid requests 20.2 trillion monthly bid requests = 657.1 billion daily bid requests x 30.44 days = 7.7 million QPS x 86,400 seconds Monthly charges for RTB requests with DSP 1 and DSP 2 $250,511.23 + $76,581.45 Total charges for the number of RTB requests = price per billion for the first 2 trillion requests + price per billion for the remaining requests
$250,511.23 = $68,000 + $182,511.23 = ($34.00 per billion requests x 2,000 billion requests) + ($10.00 per billion x 18,251 billion requests) = 20.2 trillion monthly bid requests
Total charges for the extra bytes of RTB requests = price per GB for the first 2 trillion requests of extra data + price per GB for the remaining requests of extra data
Average request size: 3,048 bytes
Included per transaction: 2,048 bytes (2KB)
Extra bytes per request: 1,000 bytes = 3,048 bytes - 2,048 bytes
$76,581.45 = $20,489.10 + $56,092.35 = ($0.011 per GB x 2 trillion requests x 1,000 bytes)+ ($0.0033 per GB x 18.2 trillion requests x 1,000 bytes)
Total monthly charges $327,092.68 $327,092.68 = 250,511.23 + $76,581.45 -
Example 3 - Demand-side-platform pricing (RTB responses inside AWS RTB Fabric)
You are a demand-side-platform (DSPs) that purchases advertising inventory from supply-side-platforms (SSPs). You want to send bid responses to two different SSPs. You want to process approximately 10 million queries per second (QPS) or 864 billion daily incoming bid requests with a 15% response rate. You process over 3.9 trillion bid responses per month, with each response size 3,048 bytes on average. On average, 85% of the your total responses per month are no-bid responses. Both SSPs are using AWS RTB Fabric to receive bid responses. You send 40% of your responses to the first SSP in US East (N. Virginia). You send your remaining 60% of your traffic to the second SSP in Europe (Ireland). You and your AdTech partners deploy AWS RTB Fabric in the same Regions.
The following table summarizes your total charges for the month:
Total transactions per month 3.9 trillion monthly bid responses 3.9 trillion monthly bid responses = 0.15 response rate x 864 billion daily bid responses x 30.44 days
Total no-bid responses per month 22.3 trillion monthly bid responses 22.3 trillion monthly bid responses = 0.85 percentage of daily no-bid responses x 864 billion daily bid responses x 30.44 days Monthly charges for RTB responses with SSP 1 and SSP 2 $11,917.54 + $3,627.23 Total charges for the number of RTB responses = price per billion for the first 2 trillion responses + price per billion for the remaining responses
$11,917.54 = $9,000.00 + $3,000.00 = ($4.50 per billion responses x 2 trillion responses) + ($1.50 per billion x 1.9 trillion) = 3.9 trillion monthly bid responses
Total charges for extra bytes RTB responses = price per GB for the first 2 trillion responses of extra data + price per GB for the remaining responses of extra dataAverage request size: 3,048 bytes
Included per transaction: 2,048 bytes (2KB)
Extra bytes per request: 1,000 bytes
$3,627.23 = $2,793.97 + $833.26 = [$0.0015 per GB x 2 trillion responses x 1,000 bytes) + [$0.00046 per GB x 1.9 trillion responses x 1,000 bytes)
Monthly charges for no-bid responses $11,177.57 Total charges for the number of no-bid responses
$11,177.57 = $0.50 per billion x 22.3 trillion monthly no-bid responses
Total monthly charges $26.722.00
$26.722.00 = $11,917.54 + $3,627.23 + $11,177.57
