AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate Now Supports Chef Automate 1.8.3
AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate now supports Chef Automate version 1.8.3, which includes Chef’s infrastructure compliance scanner.
Previously, Chef compliance scans could only be run on nodes with a Chef agent installed. Now, you can run Chef compliance scans on nodes that are not managed by Chef, giving you the ability to scan your entire system.
AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate will automatically update your Chef Automate version. However, Chef Client updates are done at your discretion. The latest stable Chef Client version, 13.8.0, includes security updates, new client features and functionality, and full use of Chef Automate. Chef Client 12 will no longer be supported by Chef after April 2018.
AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate is available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), EU (Ireland), EU (Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and Asia Pacific (Sydney) public AWS regions.
