The solution
L&G Retail is building on its capability to deliver innovative machine learning solutions such as document management using Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Textract to automate document processing, classification, and data extraction. More recently, the company has begun using Amazon Bedrock to improve customer experiences and the AWS Well-Architected Framework Sustainability Pillar to reduce the carbon footprint of its applications.
One of the six pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, the Sustainability Pillar has helped L&G Retail learn architectural best practices for designing and operating secure, reliable, efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable workloads in the AWS Cloud. The framework also provides L&G Retail with a way to consistently measure its application architecture against best practices and identify areas for improvement.

We’ve learned how to manage, train, and maintain ML models, and we’re in a great place to use generative AI for new use cases, which is really exciting…and importantly, for our sustainability goals, we are now learning how we can reduce the carbon footprint of our applications.
