Kone on AWS
KONE, a global leader in elevator and escalator solutions, leverages AWS technologies to enhance urban mobility and safety for millions of people daily.
Overview
By utilizing AWS's cloud services, IoT capabilities, and artificial intelligence, KONE connects and optimizes its equipment, enabling predictive maintenance, improved efficiency, and enhanced passenger experiences. This collaboration between KONE and AWS demonstrates how cloud technology can be harnessed to create smarter, safer urban environments, improving the flow of urban life and setting new standards for innovation in the building technology industry.
KONE uses Amazon Bedrock to speed resolution and improve service
KONE is using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and generative artificial intelligence (AI) to speed up elevator and escalator maintenance. Accessing foundation model Claude 3 through Amazon Bedrock, the company created the Technician Assistant. As Amy Chen, senior vice president and chief innovation officer, says, generative AI is making a positive impact on technicians’ work and helping to deliver a better service to customers.
KONE uses AWS to power safer, more efficient urban transport
Rush-hour crowding in metro stations can cause various challenges which could be dangerous at times as bottlenecks can build, with risks of accidents or stampedes. KONE saw a pressing need of station operators and managers to reduce the risk of accidents, improve passenger safety, and secure the flow of millions of daily journeys.
KONE powers responsible AI field service with Amazon Bedrock
KONE Corporation, a global leader in elevators and escalators, implemented a generative AI solution using Amazon Bedrock to enhance their field service operations. Their primary use case involves a technician assistant that helps over 40,000 field technicians per day to resolve equipment issues more efficiently, handling approximately 30,000 technical help desk calls monthly.
KONE unlocks new efficiencies using AWS IoT
KONE uses advanced IoT technologies from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to improve the flow of people and resources in urban settings for increased comfort, convenience, and security while reducing costs through smart, connected, and energy-efficient offerings.
AWS Innovation with KONE | Innovation Ambassadors
In this Amazon Web Services (AWS) Innovation Ambassadors episode, we hear how KONE is delivering safer, smarter, more sustainable experiences at scale. Using AWS Internet of Things (IoT) service AWS IoT TwinMaker and working with the AWS Prototyping team, KONE can create 3D digital representations of physical structures, helping to improve people’s journeys through urban spaces.
World-class solutions at scale: KONE and AWS innovate with generative AI
KONE is harnessing generative artificial intelligence (AI) to increase the power and performance of its connected services on a global scale. A leader in the elevator and escalator industry, it relies on world-class cloud solutions. This is why—says senior vice president and chief innovation officer Amy Chen—KONE uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) Internet of Things (IoT) and generative AI technology. From making data secure and easily accessible, to being able to apply a range of foundation models in Amazon Bedrock, and rapidly testing ideas in the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center. The solutions KONE discovers in the AWS Cloud are helping to make buildings smarter and more connected.
The technology core we built on AWS is a backbone on which we can scale, innovate in the market, and differentiate ourselves in the best urban flow experience.
