Overview

Signaturit Group, based in Spain, is a leading European provider of digital trust services. It offers electronic signature solutions and secure document management services. Its core product is an e-signature platform that enables businesses to conduct secure and legally binding digital transactions. The company was running its systems in a hybrid configuration with some infrastructure on premises and some on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and was facing challenges. These included performance issues during maintenance and upgrades and the need to optimize the network. Signaturit Group worked with AWS Partner DoiT to optimize its system, including migrating more operations to AWS. The result has been improved performance, $7,200 monthly cost savings, and 10 percent faster deployment speed.

Opportunity | The Challenges of Delivering a Secure and Reliable Service

Signaturit Group is a digital solutions provider in the legal technology sector, specializing in electronic signatures and secure document management. With a commitment to innovation, Signaturit Group offers tools that streamline legal processes and improve digital security. But to do so, Signaturit Group needed to provide a secure and reliable infrastructure to support its customers and ensure data integrity.

Because Signaturit Group needed to comply with many stringent regulations, including those related to Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) procedures, the company ran many operations in house. But this made it difficult to scale up to meet large spikes in demand or support growth. “We’ve had cases where customers were sending notifications to thousands of customers at once, asking them to sign an agreement and return it," says Jordi Martin, chief technology officer at Signaturit Group. “This was very disruptive. We needed to find a way to scale so we could cope with any spikes.”

The company’s commitment to supporting the full lifecycle of secure digital transactions on its modular platform—including electronic signatures, digital identity verification, KYC processes, and legal preservation —motivated it to migrate much of its on-premises infrastructure to AWS to address its challenges. It also needed a system that could support it to meet its goal of a 20 percent annual growth rate. In addition to scalability challenges, it wanted to improve performance and integrate AI to respond to customer queries more efficiently.

About AWS Partner DoiT

Solution | AWS Partner DoiT Helps Signaturit Group Optimize Performance with Migration to AWS

Signaturit Group was already running some operations in the cloud and believed there could be benefits from migrating many remaining on-premises operations. Certain functions would need to remain in house for regulatory reasons, so the company needed a partner that could help create an effective hybrid system. Signaturit Group chose to partner with DoiT because of both its expertise and culture. “We didn’t get to a point where we couldn’t deliver," says Martin. “However, we wanted to stay ahead of the challenges. DoiT was a perfect fit as a partner. I never had the feeling that I was just a customer. They were very involved in the project and were always there for anything we needed.”

DoiT conducted in-depth analyses, coordinated with AWS Support, and provided step-by-step guidance for each challenge. The process involved detailed planning, collaboration, and providing ongoing support to ensure successful implementation. “Signaturit Group was clear about its goals and defining the workloads it wanted to migrate,” says Alex Shaffer, senior account manager at DoiT. “The communication between our teams helped the project run smoothly. Their vision became our guide.” DoiT provided tailored solutions, including optimizing Amazon OpenSearch Service configurations, coordinating with AWS on invoice retrieval, advising on AWS Direct Connect configuration for a dedicated network connection, and enabling detailed monitoring of containers on Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS). It also helped Signaturit Group automate the integration of its internal knowledge base with Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service that offers a selection of high- performance foundation models from leading AI companies. “Amazon Bedrock is used as an internal tool to respond to security assessments requested by our customers,” says Pablo Sola, vice president, architecture and R&D. “Integration with our knowledge base has helped speed up response times to these requests.”

Outcome | Migration Provides $7.2K Monthly Savings, 10% Faster Deployments, and Support for 20% Annual Growth

The migration has resulted in multiple benefits for Signaturit Group. It improved cloud performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The solutions ensured seamless service delivery, better resource management, and up-to-date access to information. The move also resulted in monthly savings of $7,200 compared to the pre-migration cost. The company has also increased the speed of deployment of new product versions by 10 percent over the previous system.

The company has also been able to support 20 percent annual growth in transactions without incident and has seen reduced latency during times of peak usage. “Using DoiT to migrate to AWS has prepared us for the future,” says Sola. “With the benefits of scalability, flexibility, and improved performance—combined with an optimized cost structure—it’s clear we made the right choice.”
