Supercharging healthcare: How ETERNO is scaling cloud-based clinics with AWS
ETERNO is supercharging patient care across Europe, transforming traditional doctors’ offices from pen and paper businesses into cloud-based clinics. By integrating technology into its physical facilities, it’s delivering a more holistic care experience, easing operations and increasing facilities for medical teams. In doing so, ETERNO is reinventing what healthcare means for patients and doctors alike.
The startup partnered with AWS to “create a fundamentally new approach to delivering software and technology within healthcare,” explains Max Waldmann, Founder and CEO, ETERNO. Built on AWS, its platform uses generative AI agents to support operational, commercial and medical decision-making, while keeping data secure.
Clinics can automate and simplify documentation systems, offer online patient booking, and identify effective treatments, all from a single dashboard. The result is less friction and fewer administrative burdens, “allowing doctors to focus on what matters most: delivering the most human-centric care,” says Waldmann.
In healthcare, a human-centric approach must also be a secure one, where patient trust is protected through rigorous compliance and enterprise-grade data security. “Keeping healthcare data secure and private is, of course, our top priority,” says Bettina Goerner, Chief Information Officer, ETERNO. “With AWS, we have a strong partner to achieve exactly that.”
Security by design is embedded into ETERNO’s platform. Patient data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, supported by robust management practices to ensure strict control over data access, and data residency is maintained in Germany. Using AWS to secure its cloud infrastructure means ETERNO can adhere to certification and compliance frameworks and focus on growth. As such, says Goerner, “We feel well prepared to scale in Europe, across different countries and different regulations.”
ETERNO’s engineers, meanwhile, rely on AWS services to run the platform’s resilient cloud infrastructure, meaning less time managing a tech stack and more on “what really matters: building the best products for our users,” says Waldman.
With a strong solutions-oriented approach to improving healthcare and with AWS as its “extremely strong partner,” ETERNO is aiming to scale its startup and “supercharge outpatient care across Europe.”
