You can now use the AWS CLI to authenticate and register on-premises servers with AWS CodeDeploy using temporary credentials generated by the AWS Security Token Service. This method enables you to automate registering a large number of on-premises servers with CodeDeploy.
Using this method, you assign your on-premises server a static IAM role that assumes the role of the temporary credentials which are periodically refreshed. You can use your own identity and authentication system to authenticate on-premises servers and distribute IAM session credentials from the service to the servers for use with CodeDeploy.
