All AWS Config Rules customers can now create up to 50 rules in their AWS account by default. Additionally, you can request an increase for the limit on the number of rules in your account by visiting the AWS Service Limits page.

Config Rules is a set of governance capabilities that allow you to define guidelines for configuring AWS resources, as well as software within your EC2 instances and on-premises systems. Today, you can choose from a selection of 25 pre-built rules managed by AWS or create custom rules to specify your guidelines and policies.

Visit the AWS Config Console or use the AWS SDKs or CLI to get started with Config Rules.
