Posted on: Jun 1, 2018

Amazon Aurora combines the performance and availability of high-end commercial databases with the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of open source databases. Amazon Aurora with MySQL Compatibility is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region, which allows you to host sensitive Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and all types of regulated workloads and export-controlled data.

With the addition of MySQL-compatible Amazon Aurora to the AWS GovCloud (US) Region, customers with sensitive data and regulatory compliance requirements have a new option for relational database placement, availability, and scalability. You can launch an Aurora instance with just a few clicks in the RDS Management Console.

Aurora is up to five times faster than standard MySQL databases. For more information, please visit the Aurora product page, and see the AWS Region Table for complete regional availability.
