AWS Marketplace, a curated digital catalog, which lists over 4,200 software listings from popular software vendors, has released a streamlined website workflow. This new workflow makes it easy for you to see how you procure, configure, and fulfill Amazon Machine Image (AMI) software products.
The new web pages provide a more wizard-like experience that separates subscription and configuration tasks, making it easier for personnel in different roles to perform each step independently, while also enabling new purchasing and fulfillment options to be managed more easily. Previously, after visiting a product detail page, you would subscribe to, configure, and launch a product all on a single page with many different tabs and sections for pricing, terms, configuration, and deployment.
There are now three separate steps providing a straightforward workflow for subscription, configuration (including AWS CloudFormation fulfillment options), and launch (including AWS Marketplace Copy to Service Catalog). The familiar 1-Click launch experience for AMIs is now “Launch from Website”, and provides the same ability to configure and launch an instance of a product via AWS Marketplace without having to visit the AWS management console.
