Amazon GuardDuty now offers an Amazon SNS notification topic so you can be notified automatically when new Amazon GuardDuty finding types or features are released. To subscribe to this SNS topic, see the documentation. GuardDuty is a managed threat detection service that continuously monitors for malicious or unauthorized behavior to help you protect your AWS accounts and workloads.
Previously, you needed to manually check if a new finding type or feature was released by looking at documentation or in the GuardDuty console. Now, you can subscribe to the new SNS topic and be notified automatically. The SNS subscription can be configured to deliver update information via an email, SMS message, or trigger an automated process with AWS Lambda.
Amazon GuardDuty monitors for activity such as unusual API calls or potentially unauthorized deployments that indicate a possible account compromise. GuardDuty also detects potentially compromised instances or reconnaissance by attackers. Enabled with a few clicks in the AWS Management Console, Amazon GuardDuty can immediately begin analyzing billions of events across your AWS accounts for signs of risk. It does not require you to deploy and maintain software or security infrastructure, meaning it can be enabled quickly with no risk of negatively impacting existing application workloads.
You can enable your 30-day free trial of Amazon GuardDuty with a single-click in the AWS Management console. To learn more, see Amazon GuardDuty Findings and to start your 30-day free trial, see Amazon GuardDuty Free Trial.
