Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) is a fast, scalable, highly available, and fully managed document database service that supports MongoDB workloads. You can use the same MongoDB application code, drivers, and tools that you do today to run, manage, and scale workloads on Amazon DocumentDB and enjoy improved performance, scalability, and availability without having to worry about managing the underlying infrastructure.
Amazon DocumentDB now supports R5 instances, the next generation of memory optimized instances, in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and EU (Ireland). R5 instances provide up to 100% better performance over R4 instance for the same instance cost. As always, testing with your queries and data will give you the most accurate information about the improvements you’ll see for your workloads. With R5 instances, you can scale to r5.24xlarge instances that have 96 vCPU, 768 GiB of memory, and 25 Gbps network performance.
Amazon DocumentDB now supports R5 instances in all production regions. For more information on AWS regions and services, please visit the AWS global region table.
