Starting today, you can create Amazon RDS for MariaDB, Amazon RDS for MySQL and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, database instances with up to 64 TiB of storage and provisioned I/O performance of up to 80,000 IOPS.
Existing database instances can also be scaled up to 64 TiB storage without any downtime. The new storage limit is an increase from 32 TiB and is supported for Provisioned IOPS and General Purpose SSD storage types. For instances using Provisioned IOPS SSD storage, Amazon RDS also supports increased performance of up to 80,000 IOPS.
This increase allows you to consolidate database shards into a single database instance and simplify database management. To learn more, please visit the Storage for Amazon RDS documentation page.
Amazon RDS makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud. See Amazon RDS for MariaDB, Amazon RDS for MySQL and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL pricing pages for regional availability.
