Today, AWS added a third Availability Zone (AZ) to the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region to accommodate a growing number of customers and increasing usage of the Region.
This third AZ provides customers with additional flexibility to architect scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available applications in AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai), and will support additional AWS services in India. This launch brings the AWS global AZ total to 65 AZs within 21 geographic Regions around the world.
Availability Zones located in AWS Regions consist of one or more discrete data centers, each of which has redundant power, networking, and connectivity, and is housed in separate facilities. Each AZ has multiple internet connections and power connections to multiple grids.
