How Experiment Units Work
An Experiment Unit (EU) measures the computational work of running an in silico experiment. EU consumption depends on three factors you control: the number of candidates, sequence length, and which models you select. Amazon Bio Discovery always shows your estimated EU consumption before you run, so there are no surprises.
Example: A Month on the Pro Plan
Say you're on the Pro plan at the Early Access rate of $486/month, which includes 15 EUs. In a busy month, you might run a mix of smaller property checks, standard binding analyses, and a couple of larger multi-model pipelines that add up to 20 EU total. Your first 15 EUs are covered by your plan at no additional cost. The remaining 5 EUs are billed as overage at your Pro per-EU rate of $32.40.
That means your total for the month is $486.00 (plan) + $162.00 (5 EU x $32.40) = $648.00. No penalty, no surprise markup. You simply pay your plan's per-EU rate for any additional experiments you run. And you always see the estimated cost before you hit run, so you stay in control of your spend throughout the month.
