I’ve got a few cool things to share today:
- The AWS Web Shop sends a Love Message To Amazon Web Services – “Ive never met an API like you. What caught my attention is that you were just exposing yourself everywhere.“
- Speaking of love letters, the Pure Web Dev blog says “I’m still surprised by the speed at which you can develop with Amazon’s Web Services Api. It’s beautiful.” The developer built a shopping cart, which you can read about here.
- A new PHP Architect tutorial talks about Using PHP5’s SOAP Support. The example uses ECS (which is great), but it does reference a very old version of the WSDL (not so great). Still, it does illustrate the process of making SOAP calls.
- Linq, short for Language-Intgegrated Query, is a promising new technology from Microsoft. You can see how to use Linq to query AWS in the new article, Introducing Linq to Amazon.
- Stuart McConnell wrote some simple .Net code to pull cover art into iTunes using ECS. Great idea, just make sure that you are in accord with the license agreement!
- Over at the Programmable Web, John Musser links to a number of Amazon mashups. Unique among these is ACLI, a browser-hosted command line interface to the Amazon catalog.
- Like me, Jeremy Zawodny likes to buy his books used, from the Amazon Marketplace. The Amazon TotalUsed script for Greasemonkey makes it easier to see the final price (with shipping) of a Marketplace item.
