AWS Marketplace
AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange now support invoice payments in 14 currencies
AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange now support invoice payments in 14 currencies. With this launch, global customers can unlock more purchasing options and flexibility on the third-party software and data you need to achieve your business goals. This feature can help relieve your accounting department of the burden of paying and tracking foreign currency conversion fees. It also obviates other costs associated with the use of foreign currencies on software and data purchases in AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange.
AWS generates invoices in US Dollars (USD) by default, but you can now opt to be billed in the following additional currencies:
-
- Australian Dollar (AUD)
- British Pounds (GBP)
- Canadian Dollar (CAD)
- Danish Kroner (DKK)
- Euro (EUR)
- Hong Kong Dollars (HKD)
- Japanese Yen (JPY)
- New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
- Norwegian Krone (NOK)*
- Singapore Dollars (SGD)**
- South African Rand (ZAR)
- Swedish Kronor (SEK)
- Swiss Francs (CHF)
*Credit card payments are supported only for NOK. Invoices with terms on NOK are not supported.
**Invoices with terms are supported only for SGD. Credit card payments on SGD are not supported.
Customers around the world welcome the launch of their preferred currency in AWS Marketplace. “Having the ability to set a preferred currency for AWS Marketplace is a great step forward for us. It enables us to take advantage of a greater number of offerings, without the inconvenience of having to pay invoices in more than one currency,” said Martin Lee, Head of Managed Services & Cloud for Sopra Banking Software. “As AWS Marketplace continues to evolve, it’s great to see this improved experience for customers. We are certainly expecting to accelerate our plans involving AWS Marketplace as a result of this change.”
Getting started
To take advantage of this new feature, you must specify your preferred currency in the AWS Billing Console. Once you specify your preferred currency, all future invoices for AWS services and AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange purchases will be converted to your preferred currency. In addition, this feature will support all transactions, including AWS Marketplace Private Offers. You can change your currency preferences at any time. The Billing and Cost Management console, the bills page, and your payment history all reflect your currency preferences. Pricing for AWS Marketplace third-party software offerings, AWS Data Exchange third-party data products, and the AWS Billing Reports will still be shown in USD.
Note: Changing your preferred currency changes your remittance instructions. To view updated remittance instructions, see your AWS Marketplace invoice or view the Account Settings page in the AWS Billing and Cost Management console.
