Desktop and Application Streaming
Getting started with Amazon WorkSpaces
Amazon WorkSpaces is a secure, fully managed, fully persistent desktop service. With Amazon WorkSpaces, you quickly provision cloud-based virtual desktops that users access from anywhere, on any supported device. As a managed service, you don’t have to worry about procuring and maintaining your own complex infrastructure and management stack. You can select from a curated list of pay-as-you-go desktop instances, enabling you to provide your users with the right resources to meet their requirements. This is a hands-on workshop, so bring your laptop to participate! This session is intended for end user compute administrators, IT professionals, and technical managers. No prior AWS experience is required. We provision AWS accounts for the duration of the workshop, so you don’t need an existing AWS account. This is a great workshop for users new to Amazon WorkSpaces and for administrators that want a refresher on the most recent service updates.
At re:Invent 2023, we are hosting a hands-on workshop EUC 201: Getting started with Amazon WorkSpaces. In this workshop, you learn how to deploy cloud desktops using Amazon WorkSpaces. You will work directly in the AWS Management Console within the first 20 minutes of the workshop. You will dive deep into the WorkSpaces service, and learn about use cases, pricing, and streaming protocol options. During the workshop, you’ll interact with the service as both an administrator, and an end user. Several WorkSpaces experts will be available during this session to answer your questions and work with you one-on-one as necessary.
To learn more about the event and sign up for this workshop, please see the details below. Be sure to visit the team at the AWS End User Computing kiosk 7 at the expo village at the Venetian. For guidance regarding all EUC activities at re:Invent 2023, see the AWS End User Computing at re:Invent 2023: A sneak peek! blog post.
I look forward to seeing you there and help you get started with the Amazon WorkSpaces.
