AWS for Industries

Now available: Explore the new AWS Power and Utilities decarbonization interactive guide

At the AWS Power and Utilities customer user meeting during AWS re:Invent 2019, customers asked us for additional informational resources in their self-identified priority areas of security and sustainability. In response to this request and available now, the AWS Power and Utilities team launched an interactive guide in partnership with Wood Mackenzie: How Cloud Enables Utility Decarbonization and Flexibility.

Decarbonization is picking up momentum around the world and across the US, enabled by the:

  • Falling costs of renewable energy
  • Maturing distributed energy resource (DER) technologies
  • Policy commitments by countries, states, and cities to reduce the carbon intensity of power systems

This new interactive resource features a map of the United States with drill-down information on state-level clean energy pledges and related utility decarbonization commitments and timelines.
