Iain Rouse leads the team in strategy, sales and business development to help government agencies, education institutions, healthcare and non-profit organizations, learn and implement Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud services, and serves serves as company director and public officer of AWS Australia Pty Limited. Rouse brings more than 25 years of business and technology experience in software development, engineering, and consulting when he joined Amazon in February 2019. Prior to joining AWS, Rouse spent almost twelve years with TechnologyOne Limited (ASX:TNE), where he served as Vice President and has held senior roles across product, business and technology. Rouse attained his bachelor's degree in business from Western Sydney University where he majored in Computing & Information Management. He lectures in Cloud Computing at Queensland University of Technology and is a member of Space Industry Hub steering committee at RMIT University.
AWS announces Australia and New Zealand startups selected for AWS Healthcare Accelerator for Aged Care and Digital Health
Today, AWS announced the 11 participants chosen for the AWS Healthcare Accelerator Australia/New Zealand for Aged Care and Digital Health. The cohort is developing a range of solutions, using the power of the cloud, to improve equitable access to health, social, and aged care services; support aged care and health service providers to deliver higher quality care; and promote new and productive ways of delivering services.
Helping the Australian Government innovate securely in the world’s most secure cloud
The rapid acceleration of digital transformation has raised expectations for efficient and effective engagement with service providers. Many expect the same engagement with government agencies as they do from consumer services such as video-on-demand, ecommerce, and online food delivery. In Australia, the government is prioritising delivering services through technology in a fast and secure way. The CSCP was closed in March 2020 and the ISM was updated to remove the requirement to select services from the Certified Cloud Services List (CCSL). However, the discontinuation of the CSCP does not alter Amazon Web Services (AWS) commitment to help Australian Government agencies innovate rapidly and securely.
