Derek Johnson is Torc’s Technical Product Director of Infrastructure & Tools. He orchestrates the teams responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure and software services supporting autonomous vehicle development. Derek has worked to advance Torc’s on-road autonomy technology since joining in January 2017. Derek began his career in 2004 working as a software developer for scientific applications, he has worked on development teams focusing on image compression, machine learning, and data visualization. Today, Derek lives in Austin, TX where he enjoys bikes and barbeque.
