Amazon CloudWatch provides robust support for industry-standard open formats, making it seamless for partners to integrate their solutions.
Open Source Standards
In today's environments, effective monitoring and security analysis depend on efficient data integration and standardization. CloudWatch reduces operational complexity by unifying operational, security, and compliance data in one place, eliminating data silos through automated collection from AWS sources and managed third-party connectors. The service provides an OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) endpoint, allowing you to use any OpenTelemetry (OTel) agent of your choice for logs and traces. Additionally, CloudWatch's flexible data transformation capabilities provides transformation of security data to the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF), helping customers with unified security analysis across multiple data sources. This standardization enables consistent threat detection and investigation workflows. Observability, security and compliance data is now accessible in Apache Iceberg format via Amazon S3 Tables. This allows the use of preferred tools to analyze the data, including Amazon services and third-party tools.
