Users

You will be charged a monthly subscription fee for each Amazon DataZone user. Users can be either corporate users that you configure with AWS IAM Identity Center or IAM principals (roles or users) that you provide permissions to with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). The monthly subscription starts when the user first accesses Amazon DataZone and the fee is prorated in this first month of activation. For example, if a user first accesses Amazon DataZone on the 14th day of a 30-day billing month , then for this user you would be charged for 16/30 of a month, or 0.533 user-months. When you deactivate a user, you will be charged a full subscription fee for this final month.

  Price
First 500 users (1-500) $9.00 per user per month
Next 500 users (501-1,000) $8.10 per user per month
Additional users (1,001 +) $7.20 per user per month

Metadata storage

You will be charged for metadata storage if you exceed your included 20 MB per user in a billing month. Metadata storage is the size of your Amazon DataZone domains, glossaries and terms, metadata forms, projects, environments, users, and assets. Included with each monthly user subscription is 20 MB of metadata storage. Multiply this by your number of users in a billing month to calculate your aggregate included metadata storage. For example, if your Amazon DataZone domain has 80 users in a month, then your included amount of metadata storage is 80 users * 20 MB per user, which equals 1,600 MB (1.6 GB). If you exceed the included amount of metadata storage in a month, you will be charged a fee at the standard rate listed below.

  Price
Metadata storage (above included amount) $0.417 per GB

Requests

You will be charged for requests if you exceed your included 4,000 requests per user in a billing month. A request is an interaction with Amazon DataZone, whether through the AWS Management Console, the Amazon DataZone portal, the Amazon DataZone SDK, an integrated service, or an API. Some of the common requests are invoking a search in the Amazon DataZone portal, viewing data asset details, or creating a project. Each monthly user subscription includes 4,000 requests. Multiply this by the number of users in a billing month to calculate your aggregate included requests. For example, if your Amazon DataZone domain has 200 users in a month, then your included number of requests is 200 users * 4,000 requests per user, which equals 800,000 requests. If you exceed the included number of requests in a month, you will be charged a fee at the standard rate listed below.

  Price
Requests (above included amount) $10 per 100,000 requests

Compute

You will be charged for compute if you exceed your included 0.2 compute units per user in a billing month. Amazon DataZone compute is used to ingest asset and schema metadata from your data sources, including AWS Glue databases and Amazon Redshift, and optionally to provide you with business name recommendations when publishing assets to your catalog. You are billed for successfully completed ingestion or name generation compute jobs. Included with each monthly user subscription is 0.2 compute units. Multiply this by your number of users in a billing month to calculate your aggregate included compute. For example, if your Amazon DataZone domain has 75 users in a month, then your included amount of compute is 75 users * 0.2 compute units per user, which equals 15 compute units. If you exceed the included amount of compute units in a month, you will be charged a fee at the standard rate listed below.

  Price
Compute units (above included amount) $1.776 per compute unit

Recommendations

You will be charged for input and output tokens for generating column descriptions, asset descriptions, and analytical use cases in AI recommendations for descriptions. Tokens are a basic unit that represent a few characters of text. Input and output tokens are charged separately. Input tokens are comprised of the asset metadata and the prompt text used to generate recommendations. Output tokens are comprised of the recommendation text that Amazon DataZone provides back to you.
