Institutions and educators receive a complete curriculum, designed to be easily integrated into existing education programs.

Curriculum content is created and updated by AWS, saving educators time so they can focus on their students.

Member educators receive complimentary AWS training and discounts for AWS Certification as part of instructor accreditation.

AWS Academy curriculum is designed to be delivered over a semester, and helps students develop technical expertise in cloud computing and prepares them for AWS Certification.

The curriculum is taught through:

  • In-class instruction
  • Hands-on labs
  • Online knowledge assessments
  • Project work

The student kit includes course manuals, access to labs, a practice exam, and a discount voucher for the certification exam.

Cloud Computing Architecture is the first curriculum offered through AWS Academy and is aligned to the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate exam. The curriculum is currently available in English only.

Government-accredited post-secondary educational institutions in eligible countries or regions can apply to be part of the program, including:

  • Certificate, diploma and undergraduate degree programs in Computer Science, Engineering, or others with a cloud computing interest
  • Post-graduate degree programs

  • Nominates two educators for instructor accreditation
  • Proposes a class delivery plan

Educators that are accepted into the program are provided resources to ensure they have the knowledge and tools they need to successfully deliver the curriculum to their students. Following is an outline of the instructor accreditation process:

• 2 to 6 months to complete (subject to educator availability)
• Approximately 60 hours of AWS Training (instructor-led or online), including lab work and knowledge assessments
• Pass AWS Certification exam aligned to the curriculum
• Final presentation of selected curriculum concepts to AWS Academy technical assessor
