A key challenge was ensuring that OSL's platform could maintain strict risk management requirements while delivering seamless trading operations across different regions. The company needed to establish high-availability infrastructure with low-latency performance that could scale with institutional demand. Additionally, OSL required solutions that would streamline compliance processes, enhance security protocols, and support broader institutional adoption.

To support its global digital asset infrastructure, OSL modernized its platform on AWS, adopting a microservices-based architecture to ensure scalability, security, and operational efficiency. Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service enables OSL to rapidly deploy and scale trading operations, ensuring a consistent and high-performance experience for institutional investors across markets. To enhance efficiency, OSL adopted a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline to automate software deployments. The company also utilizes Amazon Elastic Container Registry to meet stringent image security requirements for containerized deployments. These processes have led to significant time savings; Cheng Yun notes, “By modernizing our infrastructure on AWS, we’ve reduced software deployment times from 30 minutes to under 10 minutes, allowing us to respond to business needs faster.”

Throughout the platform's development, security remained a top priority. OSL employed AWS Nitro Enclaves and AWS Key Management Service to protect highly sensitive financial data. This setup provides isolated compute environments and encrypts data with secure keys. Amazon Virtual Private Cloud and AWS Transit Gateway ensure secure communication across the platform, while AWS Transfer Family facilitates secure deposit and withdrawal processes.

In addition, OSL simplified platform management, freeing up organizational resources for value-adding product innovation. Amazon EKS reduced cluster management complexity, and Amazon ECR automated container lifecycle policies, resulting in a 30 percent reduction in management time. “This efficiency gain means we can dedicate more resources to developing and enhancing the platform,” says Cheng Yun.
