Amazon WorkSpaces now supports custom login workflows with a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI)

Amazon WorkSpaces now supports a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) to help streamline user login workflows. With this release, customers automatically generate a simple, custom link for users to access their WorkSpaces that includes login information. This link can include login information such as the WorkSpace registration code, user name, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) credentials. With this capability, you can develop custom on-boarding and login workflows for users that eliminate the need for users to manually enter login information.

For example, you can post WorkSpaces URI links that you create to an existing secure internal web portal where users authenticate to access their applications. This helps you keep your WorkSpaces information secure, and it gives your users fast, easy access to their WorkSpaces without requiring them to enter their user name and MFA multiple times. In addition, if your users have multiple WorkSpaces accounts, they can use URIs to easily identify the WorkSpace that they need, without having to remember which registration code belongs to which directory.

This capability is available for Amazon WorkSpaces in all regions where the service is available today. You can start using Amazon WorkSpaces today by using the WorkSpaces console and take advantage of the new URI capability once your Workspaces are created. For more information, see Customize How Users Log in to their WorkSpaces in the Amazon WorkSpaces Administration Guide.
